"A Love of Truth"
( to the tune of Amazing Grace)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
1. A love of truth surrounds this space,
the softest voice is heard.
A place to speak of doubts we face,
without a stifling word.
2. To journey with an open mind,
supporting all who search.
A common goal of truth to find,
gives meaning to this church.
3. Respecting the diversity
in all the human race.
The fabric of community,
we weave with acts of grace.
4. So young in counting of the days,
our church has just begun.
For truth we let our voices raise,
our song will now be sung.

"Awake My Heart"
(to the tune of How Great Thou Art)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
O time holds still, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the splendor of this world,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
The marvels of the universe displayed;
Then sings my soul, for all the mystery,
Awake my heart, awake my heart!
Then sings my soul, for all the mystery;
Awake my heart, awake my heart!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze,
Then sings my soul, for all the mystery,
Awake my heart, awake my heart!
Then sings my soul, for all the mystery;
Awake my heart, awake my heart!

"The Open Church"
Music: Traditional to Amazing Grace
Words: Scott Phillips and Jennifer Brooks
(Verse 4 Traditional)
|
|
|
|
1. Respect for all surrounds this space.
the softest voice is heard.
Here is a place for doubt and faith,
without a stifling word.
2. We journey with our hearts and minds,
embracing all who search..
With justice as our common goal,
we are the open church.
3. We welcome all who enter here.
Throughout the human race
The fabric of community,
is shaped with acts of grace..
4. Through many trials, toils, and snares,
we have already come;.
Twas grace hath brought us safe thus far,
and grace shall lead us home.
